Dear Friend of CRB,
Now that the Nutcracker sets have been removed from the Fox, and the snow that fell on the children (it really did!) has long melted, we at CRB want to thank the many wonderful supporters who contributed to another season of success.
In case you have not heard, over 3,000 children, for the first time, experienced the art of ballet, performed to live music! According to a school director from Centro De Ninos, when the children returned to school, they pretended to be ballet dancers, twirling with arms stretched in the air to imaginary music! The fact that some children questioned why there was no talking from the dancers emphasizes the importance of CRB’s outreaches. In this day and age of fast action video games which instantly capture young minds, to be able to demonstrate a story through the graceful movements of dancers and changes in the tempo of classical music is an education in itself. Additionally, the outreaches allowed our senior members to journey back in time to fond memories of Holidays and Fox Performing Arts Center.
Clearly, this year’s Nutcracker was one of the most elaborate productions ever presented by and for the community of Riverside. While ticket sales covered one-third of its costs, the remaining came from grants, donations and corporate gifts from friends like you. Thus, none of what CRB did could have been accomplished without your extreme generosity! And so, we thank you! Thank you for caring about the art of ballet. Thank you for helping us to achieve some of the highest attendance figures at the Fox. And thank you for helping us, as part of the City of Arts and Innovation, “let it snow” on the children’s heads!
As the year comes to an end, we hope you can find it in your heart to make one more tax-deductible donation to “California Riverside Ballet” in order to insure that our lights stay on this Holiday Season and next.
We wish many blessings and a new year filled with faith, hope and love!
